    I often think that if I won the lottery I would anonymously gift lots of different people $50,000 or $100,000. I would offer no instructions for its use, just a note saying “I think you are wonderful because…”. I love the thought of those people opening the envelope, seeing the cheque (or check in US) and being totally elated. Of course I would pay off our debts, set our kids up with a home so they always had a roof over their heads and then I would travel.

    I think I would be more inclined to leave it in trust for grandkids. First, it wouldn’t encourage my kids to slack off. Second it might encourage them to procreate.

    that might work. It might be faster to use some of that money to just go buy yourself some grand kids! (Just kidding!)
